Wikipedia - Liga Leumit

The Israeli Liga Leumit (Hebrew: הליגה הלאומית, HaLiga HaLeumit, lit. 'National League') is the second division of the professional Israeli association football (soccer) league system. This 2ⁿᵈ tier league is placed right below the Israeli Premier League.

History

Liga Leumit came into existence at the start of the 1955–56 season, replacing Liga Alef as the top division in Israeli football. However, it was usurped as the top flight in the 1999–2000 season, when it was replaced by the Premier League. Since then it has operated as the second tier in the Israeli football league system.

Israel - Liga Leumit - Play-off

Play-off-ul Ligii Leumit este un turneu care se desfășoară la finalul fiecărui sezon din Liga Leumit, divizia secundă a fotbalului din Israel.

Turneul este format din șase echipe: echipele clasate pe locul 2-5 din Liga Leumit și câștigătoarea și locul doi din Liga Alef, divizia a treia din fotbalul din Israel.

Echipele sunt împărțite în două grupe de câte trei echipe, iar fiecare grupă joacă un turneu în sistem fiecare cu fiecare. Cele două câștigătoare de grupă se califică pentru finala play-off-ului.

Echipa câștigătoare a finalei play-off-ului promovează în Premier League, divizia de top a fotbalului din Israel.
